Double page spread draft
Girlfriends (Laura Ireland and Victoria Cleave) of George Craig and…………….. the brothers of the posh indie band One Night Only have started up their own clothes brand called Holi-Polo.
George Craig (lead singer of ONO) and also model for Burberry has his own views on the new found brand. During their gig in Norwich (Norfolk) George got interviewed by a reporter for NME music channel. She asked if he was excited for Laura and Victoria. He answered, ‘Yes I am, although I’d rather keep my nose out. I’ve already told them I don’t want to model for them.’
From this strong opinion from George, we have invited Laura and Victoria to the studio to do an official photo shoot of some of the new collection. Also interviewed them to find out more about the brand and of course how their boyfriends feel about Holi-Polo.
Interviewing with Laura Ireland.
Q1. So Laura how did Holi-polo start? It’s quite out of the blue really! We never knew you modelled before?
A. Yes it was quite random really, I mean Vicky and I have been talking about it for a long time now. And it’s always been my dream to model my own clothes! I used to do some modelling when I was younger and when Vicky and I decided to make Holi-Polo the real thing, I jumped right onto the modelling side.
Q2. This must be so exciting for you then, if its been your dream?
A. Oh my god yes! I’m enjoying, loving everything to do with Holi-Polo now! Vicky and I have never been so busy!
Q3. I bet you are! Having your own clothing company must take up loads of time! What’s your role in the company?
A. Well Vicky got a degree in Art and Textile design and University. So she does all the design drawings, but we both think of ideas of the clothes. I just sort everything out, I’m sort of a mini P.A of the whole company. And of course do you modelling which is my favourite of course!
4Q. Wow! Must be a busy bee then! George also does modelling as well. Have you two ever thought about modelling together? Or even him actually getting you a career in modelling?
A. Yes he does, he is an amazing model. We’ve never really thought of the idea of modelling together though. I think we will probably stick to just Vicky and I for the models of Holi-Polo. I’ve never wanted a career in modelling, I’ve always thought if it became my career I wouldn’t enjoy it as much and I would class it as a chore rather than a hobby!
5Q. Has George ever offered to model for Holi-Polo before? I bet he would look great in the festival collection!
A. Well we did originally think about George giving it a go to advertise our brand! And of course the men’s clothing as we haven’t been able to advertise that yet. We still need a male model! But I don’t think George is too keen on modelling for his girlfriend. Maybe our clothes aren’t up to his usual standard. I guess it’s not like modelling for Burberry.
Q6. Well I’m sure that Holi-Polo will be the next big thing Laura! It’s been lovely talking with you! And I wish you all the best in the future for Holi-Polo!
A. Thank you, and I hope so too!
Interviewing Victoria Cleave.
Q1. So Victoria, how excited is you about Holi-Polo? It must be great to work with your best friend?
A. I’m so excited about Holi! It’s great to work with Laura as she’s so committed to it. It’s kind of like a dream right now. It doesn’t feel as if it’s really happening.
Q2. I’m glad that you’re excited about it! Cannot wait till it comes into shops. I’ve heard that your clothes are very inspirational to you?
A. Yes they are, I’m good friends with Alexa Chung. She’s given me loads of inspiration and guidance’s towards my dream- which is to design clothes.
Q3. Wow, being friends with Alexa Chung must be great! Are your designs similar to hers?
A. Yes it is, she’s such a lovely person that designs beautiful garments. I don’t think my designs are similar to Alexa’s. Laura and I decided to make our clothes exclusive.
Q4. I see, and from looking at some of the garments you wore in the photo shoot, they do look different to anything you would get down the high street. I believe the clothes you modelled today are from your festival collection?
A. Yes they are. Well at the beginning of making Holi-Polo, Laura and I wanted to do something that hasn’t been thought of before. That’s when we decided on having the idea of making the clothes for music festivals. We thought this hasn’t been done before and we wanted to design fresh, on trend clothes for teenagers and young adults. That enjoy going to music festivals, as the style of this collection is for them. Q5. Yes, well I think all your clothes will appeal to your market audience, I defiantly loved them! And I’m also a lover of music festivals! Good luck with Holi-Polo, and we hope to

My Initial Idea
My initial idea for my music magazine is to attract male and female teenagers that are between 15-19. I also wanted to include fashion into my magazine as well as music as a i felt that this was a gap in the market. I related my magazine to Black Book and NME, Black Book is a indie fashion magazine and NME is a indie/rock magazine so i wanted to merge the two together. My magazine is called Cult, i choose this name because its modern, hip and edgy. I also thought teenagers would remember the name as well. The type of advertising i would like to have in my magazine is popular and unpopular clothes shops. I wanted my magazine to be edgy and popular but also putting in adverts for unknown, vintage shops and have new up coming bands it would make it more exclusive. The price for my magazine is £2.99.
